For 6 years, Cecabank has brought industry professionals together with supervisors and regulators to reflect and debate on the ongoing operational, regulatory and market changes that have a direct impact on this business.
On 14 November at Sala Truss in the WiZink Center we will hold the 6th Securities Services Conference, organised by Cecabank as a leading player in the custody and depositary activity of collective investment institutions and pension funds in Spain.
Previous editions dealt with highly topical issues resulting from detailed regulations from different fields, such as the operation of critical market infrastructures and the role of the figure of the depositary. The subjects of debate were also centred around the entry of Spain into Target 2 Securities, the culmination of the Securities Clearing and Settlement Systems' Reform with the implementation of Phase II, and the new scenario proposed by UCITS V - AIFMD. The last edition featured a debate on the aspects that affected the activity of the custody and depository of securities that are part of a complex process, which is necessary to continue along the line of convergence with Europe, without omitting the impact of new technologies on this activity.
At the event, securities companies, CII and pensions fund managers, venture capital companies, and banks, will all come together to discuss current issues such as the overview of the technology and regulation on securities services, and also on the present and future of ECB-T2S projects. Te situation of pensions will be discussed, to close with a round-table debate focused on crypto-assets, assets of the future.
More than 300 attendees from more than 100 institutions came to the event last year. I invite you to participate in the conference and to dedicate a morning, that will undoubtedly be enriching, to share perceptions with sector professionals. We hope to see you again this year.

The latest Securities Services Conference from Cecabank will be held on 14 November at Sala Truss, under the title “Post-trading challenges in a transformation environment”. This sixth edition will focus on current issues such as the overview of the regulation on Securities Services, the present and future of ECB projects – T2S. The role of crypto-assets, as assets of the future, and the current and future situation of pensions will also be debated.
This sixth edition will be launched by Ana Martínez-Pina, Vice-Chair of the CNMV; Ana Isabel Pereda, Director of Expansión; and José María Méndez, CEO of CECA. The conference will be brought to a close by Juan Ayuso, General Manager of Operations, Markets and Payment Systems. The event is intended for executives, managing directors, operational managers, regulatory compliance managers, legal executives, internal monitoring managers, accounting managers; and staff involved in operational and monitoring divisions of CII management companies, pension fund management companies, securities companies, closed-ended collective investment fund management companies (venture capital) and venture capital companies; and securities agencies and companies, financial depositary companies, and finance companies offering securities services to clients and IFACs.
