Cecabank has celebrated a new edition of its programme “You Choose”, an initiative that channels the social solidarity and commitment of its employees, and that is part of the Social Action Plan of the company, integrated in its Sustainability policy. This year, the programme has had a total donation of 150,000 euros, set aside for finance presented and selected projects by the staff.
The delivery of the aids to different associations and foundations payees yesterday took place in the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid, in an act that gathered to representatives of the organisations awarded people, employees and managers of the company, in an atmosphere of recognition to the collective effort for promote initiatives transformers in profit of the company.
The XI edition of “You Choose” has returned to highlight the commitment of Cecabank and of its our people with the development of a company more inclusiva, the promotion of the culture and the protection of the environment. In this call have been presented 23 projects, distributed in three categories: social, cultural and environmental. The edition has had a broad share of the staff, reaching 85%, which highlights the strong commitment and the social sensitivity that they demonstrate the employees of Cecabank when support and promote presented solidarity initiatives.
The most voted proposal has been “UNOENTRECIENMIL – Against the child”leukaemia, of the Fundación Unoentrecienmil, is a project concentrating on the research and the fight against this illness, with the aim of reaching the full healing of the child leukaemia. For this, drives the financing of scientific studies innovators and promotes solidarity initiatives as “The Return to the Cole”, a sporting event that mobilises to the teaching community in favour of the research.
Verónica Antolínez, corporate director of People, Culture and Services Integrals of Cecabank, has emphasised the value of this initiative as a reflection of the collective commitment of the staff: “You Choose represents the essence of the social commitment of Cecabank. Every year, all the employees are involved in an active way in projects that they improve the life of people and they contribute to build a more solidarity company, inclusiva and sustainable. Its share demonstrates that, together, can generate an actual and long-lasting”impact.
From its launch in 2015, “You Choose” has been consolidated as the initiative more representing the social action of Cecabank. With an accumulated total resource of more than 1,075,000 euros, the programme has allowed financing 134 social projects, cultural and environmental, set aside for promote the research and the development of innovative therapies, improve the quality of life of patients, promote the inclusion via the culture, the music and the sport, and protect the environment through stock of conservation of the flora and the fauna, among others.
Similarly, thanks to its staff's active involvement, Cecabank - company member of the Global Compact - strengthens with this initiative its commitment with Objectives of Sustainable Development (ODS) of United Nations and consolidates its role as a performance benchmark in social action within the financial sector, promoting a model of banking person in charge and committed to the people.

Cecabank and its solidarity network: social commitment in stock
Cecabank continues expanding every year the extent and number of its solidarity initiatives, consolidating a network of collaboration with foundations and associations that generate a positive impact in the company and its environment. This sustained growth reflects the active commitment of the company with the social action, especially in support to the most vulnerable groups.
Besides “You Choose”, its emblematic social action plan, Cecabank has strengthened again its commitment to society via various solidarity initiatives.
The company maintains a close collaboration with the Red Cross, who supports before emergencies in Spanish territory, and answers to requests of humanitarian assistance of the Committee of Spanish Emergency. In addition, Cecabank has a solid path together with the Bank of Foodstuffs of Madrid, with who collaborates annually in campaigns as the Operation Kilo and sponsors spaces in its facilities.
The commitment with the social inclusion and the reduction of the digital gap is reflected in the creation of classrooms directed to vulnerable groups. From 2021, Cecabank has put in motion classrooms ICT in collaboration with companies as a Fundación Bobath, Fundación Adisli, Fundación Senara, Fundación Integrates, the Actual Oratory of the Caballero of Grace and House San Cristóbal of Fundación Montemadrid.
The company also drives corporate voluntary work programmes, including the training in basic digital responsibilities with Fundación Integrates, and the financial education and the prevention of the dropout with Fundación Junior Achievement. From 2023, Cecabank participates in the initiative “A letter for a grandfather”, promoted by the NGO Adopts a grandfather, strengthening its commitment with the older people.
