Of Madrid to Mudam: sixth Spanish bank opens officially in Luxembourg

Cecabank has celebrated the official opening of its branch in Luxembourg with an act in the Contemporary Art museum Mudam, consolidating as the sixth Spanish bank present in this European financial centre.

The company, specialised in wholesale services for the financial sector, initiated operations in the Grand Duchy in March and centres its activity in depositary services and cash accounts for funds of the private market.

During the ceremony, the minister of Finances of Luxembourg, Gilles Roth, emphasised the importance of the Spanish presence in the country and the role of Luxembourg as canalizador of investments in Europe. Furthermore, Ainhoa Jáuregui, CEO of Cecabank, underlined the commitment of the company with this market: “Our mission is clear: we want contribute value to the depositary ecosystem of Luxembourg via our solid experience and our rigorous regulatory”approach.

The branch, directed by Brenda Bol, has a specialised team and is summed to the more than 118 banks that they operate in Luxembourg. This step supposes a strategic expansion for Cecabank, strengthening its international presence and its reference role as member for alternative funds.
