Of Madrid to Mudam: sixth Spanish bank opens officially in Luxembourg

Cecabank has marked the official opening of its office in Luxembourg with an event at the Mudam Museum of Contemporary Art, consolidating its position as the sixth Spanish bank present in this European financial centre.

The institution, which specialises in wholesale services for the financial sector, began operations in the Grand Duchy in March and focuses its activity on depositary services and cash accounts for private market funds.

During the ceremony, Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, highlighted the importance of the Spanish presence in the country and Luxembourg’s role as a channel for investment in Europe. For her part, Ainhoa Jáuregui, CEO of Cecabank, underlined the institution’s commitment to this market: “Our mission is clear: we want to contribute value to Luxembourg’s depositary ecosystem through our solid expertise and our rigorous regulatory approach”.

The branch, headed by Brenda Bol, has a specialised team and joins the more than 118 banks operating in Luxembourg. This step represents a strategic expansion for Cecabank, strengthening its international presence and its role as a benchmark partner for alternative funds.
