Cecabank moves forward in its digital asset global strategy with services of custody of criptoactivos, initiatives of money tokenizado and its share in European financial infrastructures as Qivalis and RL1
Cecabank, leading bank in Securities Services on the market Iberian, has celebrated today in Luxembourg the meeting Building Luxembourg’s digital assets ecosystem: to strategic roundtable, a meeting that has gathered to representatives of financial institutions, managers, suppliers technological and other organisations to analyse the opportunities that offer the digital assets to the financial sector.
The chief executive officer of Cecabank, Ainhoa Jáuregui, has inaugurated the meeting emphasising: «In Cecabank are building a bridge between traditional financial infrastructures and the new economy tokenizada. We want that our clients can access new ways of digital money, stablecoins and assets tokenizados with the same standards of security, control and fulfillment regulatory that they have characterised always our activity».
The meeting has had a lecture of Vine Hribar, Head of Institutional Partnerships of Qivalis, who has talked on the development of new infrastructures for the financial markets. Similarly, the round table Tokenize the present to prepares the future has gathered to Emmanuelle Lemarquis, Conducting Officer Compliance & Legal of CaixaBank Asset Management Luxembourg; Carlos Matilla, CEO of ioBuilders; Ben Brophy, Head of Institutional Growth Europe of Solana Foundation; and Virginia Linares, Head of Coordination & Control, Securities Services of Cecabank. The debate has been lowered by Simon Gorbutt, Deputy CEO of Luxembourg for Finance.
The meeting has been closed by Brenda Bol, Country Head of Cecabank S.A., Branch in Luxembourg, who has emphasised the role of Luxembourg as one of the financial innovation centres principals in Europe and the interest caused by the meeting: «The reply to this meeting reflects the dynamism of a sector that moves forward purposefully in the development of the tokenización». Building the European ecosystem of digital assets

Cecabank is the only financial institution registered in the record of the Banco de España as a supplier of services of criptoactivos (CASP), authorisation obtained in November 2024. A year later, the bank became the first guard B2B in Spain in obtaining the licence MiCA. In addition, has initiated the process of European passport with the aim of spreading these services to Ireland, Portugal and Luxembourg.
The strategy of the company has been materialised in various advances during the last year. In May 2026, Cecabank implemented its custody service of criptoactivos for financial institutions, with an all-inclusive solution that allows to these offer to its final customer services of purchase and sale agreement of criptoactivos with the over-collateralisation. Two months later, participated together with other Spanish financial institutions in the first full service bank concept test of deposits tokenizados in Spain, confirming the potential of the digital money to transform fee-paying and settlement processes.
In the European field, the bank was added in May 2026 to Qivalis, consortium that works in the development of one stablecoin called in low euros MiCA. Subsequently, became the first Spanish company in adding as a founding member of Regulated Layer One (RL1), an infrastructure blockchain panEuropean for the financial sector with headquarters in Luxembourg.
