7 February 2019
Cecabank has obtained the AENOR Energy Management Certificate that certifies that the financial institution complies with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 50001 Standard. This certificate, with registration number GE-2018/0038, acknowledges that Cecabank has implemented an Energy Management System committed to ongoing improvement, as well as the efficient use of the energy at its facilities in Calle Alcalá 27 and Caballero de Gracia 28-30 in Madrid.
According to ISO (International Organization for Standardisation) studies, the advantages of applying this Energy Management Standard revolve around saving between 5% and 30% of companies' total energy costs.
This certificate helps to manage and reduce energy consumption in companies, with the positive influence gained by reducing the associated financial costs and greenhouse gases.
In keeping with Cecabank's Energy Policy
Cecabank's Corporate Social Policy laid down in its Energy Policy is based on the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 50001 Standard. This specifies the savings and energy management objectives that have been set out by the company.
Its implementation and compliance, led by Senior Management, does not only concern the entire workforce, but also all external agents and organisations that carry out activities for the bank.
This Energy Policy, backed and certified through the aforementioned Energy Management Certificate, lays down the energy commitment guidelines, including the focus towards energy savings, the practices that contribute to reducing greenhouse gases, and the consumption of energy-efficient products and services.
Cecabank boasts the AENOR Quality Management Systems certificate according to ISO 9001:2015 for Securities and Depositary Services (Design and provision of depositary services for funds and settlement, administration and securities custody), Collections and Payments (Exchange, clearing and settlement of collection and payment transactions), for the Design and teaching of banking courses and granting professional certifications in the Banking Training School and, in the Pyramid Service, for financial reporting (includes aspects ranging from regulatory analysis to the technical support required for the full management of the reporting cycle). It also has the Information Security Management System certification in accordance with the ISO 27001:2014 standard for systems that support the transactions for the exchange and processing of Debit files and SEPA transfers.
Furthermore, the Cecabank Criminal Compliance Management System is certified according to the UNE 19601:2017 standard.
The certificate awarded comes in addition to all the previous accreditations, demonstrating Cecabank's commitment to excellence and ongoing improvement throughout its entire scope of activity.
