Cecabank obtains the AENOR Energy Management Certificate in recognition of its efficient energy management

7 February 2019

Cecabank has obtained an AENOR Energy Management Certificate. This confirms that the bank complies with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 50001 Standard. With the registration number GE-2018/0038, this certificate recognises that Cecabank has implemented an Energy Management system that is committed to continuous improvement and that it uses energy efficiently in its buildings at Calle Alcalá 27 and Caballero de Gracia 28-30 in Madrid.

According to ISO (International Organization for Standardisation) studies, the advantages of applying this Energy Management Standard revolve around saving between 5% and 30% of companies' total energy costs.

This certificate helps companies to manage and reduce energy consumption. The positive effect this certificate has on reducing associated financial costs and greenhouse gas emissions must be taken into account.

In keeping with Cecabank's Energy Policy

Cecabank's Corporate Environmental Policy is explained in its Energy Policy, which meets the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 50001 Standard. This specifies the savings and energy management objectives that have been set out by the company.

Senior Management has been responsible for implementing the Energy Policy, which must be complied with by all the bank's employees, as well as by all the external agents and organisations that perform activities for the bank.

This Energy Policy is supported and accredited by the aforementioned Energy Management Certificate. It establishes the bank's energy commitment directives, which include energy saving guidance, the implementation of practices that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the use of energy-efficient products and services.
